Rose Bush Pruning New Growth Dreamstime 11865

Now onto the ‘prickly subject’ of rose bushes!! We see many rose bushes that have been pruned incorrectly and ultimately you will not benefit from numerous beautiful blooms unless you look after your roses properly. Here’s a very simple instructional film with the basic guidelines for how to prune rose bushes. Pruning your roses this month is another job which should be locked into your gardening calendar. Once Spring comes your roses will not react so kindly to getting a ‘hair-cut’. So don’t forget to tackle this job in the next month or so before the weather gets warmer and everything starts to sprout! We find rose pruning season causes the air to be ‘blue’ in many gardens as people prick their fingers and scratch themselves on the vicious thorns. So if you don’t fancy this job yourself, remember your amazing (non-swearing) gardening team is just one phone call away! Anna.
